[Accessibility] Finding the Nearest POI

Hi All,

I want to be able to find the nerest intersection to my current position. This is so that the GPS unit can announce the next intersection or rather the closest one. If there are any resources on this that I am missing, please let me know as I have not been able to find much on this. Also, any generic pointers for someone just starting off in GPS land I would really like to read them.
