Maybe it is being across the pond from the server.  I'm seeing ~160ms
ping times, which I would say lines up pretty well with about 3
uploads/s;

Right now, uploading one medium-large county, it has an 18MB memory
footprint.  It uses ~2% of my cpu sporadically.  Not much cpu load at
all.
