Ah, ok. Someone who hacks on JOSM should fix that ;)

Back to Potlatch: the version now deployed (thanks Steve) has a  
slight fix in the server code. I'd be interested to hear if any new  
ways created with this version are still showing the disappearing  
ways/tags problem when viewed in JOSM.
