Hello,
I have tried extensively to figure out the relations between mapbox sat
imagery announcements (eg. "we have opened up sat imagery for osm tracing",
"let's use mapbox as default in josm" etc) and reality but found no correlation.
The mapbox tms url in josm (as well as their published ones on their API
page) serve pure black boxes everywhere. I have not yet seen any data on
them, no matter what. I have tried areas which are covered on the mapbox.com
websites (europe as well as siberia, to my much surprise), but blank in JOSM.
Many people have told "you do not need to have a paid subscription",
including mapbox representatives.
Please share the secret! How do you see anything on mapbox sat layer except
pitch black? Where? What zoom? Why JOSM imagery provider is set to
pitchblack-tile-service? :-)
And I'm not even talking about cloudless, where the information is less than
scarce.
Thank you,
Peter
ps: CC'ing me your reply would be appreciated.
