Thanks, that's really helpful. I'll ask about previous discussion.

We'd certainly only accept writing software for the import as a
GSOC contribution, not the import itself. And even then, I do have some
reservations, if it would be for a one-time import. That somewhat goes
against "learning how to contribute to open source". It's more of "do my
own thing which happens to be open source".
