Please don't take this out of context!
The question related to producing vectors from raster drawings, and the NYPL 
processing seems to be making the same mistakes that the Cadastre imports were 
making 2 years ago. What would be nice rather than complaints would be some 
links to the tools if they HAVE now been improved! I don't believe that the 
tools have changed in the 18 months since this was discussed on the OSM list, 
but if they have then please provide links (in English would be nice ;) ). The 
current tools do still require a lot of manual intervention, and the New York 
examples would benefit from any improvements that the French tools have 
achieved? I could not answer John's question directly could not find the rest of 
the material that went with the example :(
