[HOT] Errors in HOT Exports

I'm going to try to investigate the problem with the hot-export tool.  I waiting for Frederik to get back to me and give me access, then I'll see if I can see what's wrong.

There's actually a lot of different options for converting from OSM to shapefile. As Michael says, they're listed here:  http://wiki.osm.org/Shapefiles  Some of these are quite new e.g. WeoGeo seems like a similar idea to hot-exports  (a download gets generated on their server).  OSM2GIS didn't work for me (got no email back).

I'd be interested to know which options you have success with.

Hi there,

Same problem and consequences here in DRC where we've met the problem for the first time during our mapping party on the 16th of February.
Any chance that this could be solved soon?
Export tools are quite wanted as it helps people to benefit directly from their contributions to the database.

Moreover, is there anyone who could give me details about cloudmade exports, it seems that they haven't been updated for more than a year...
If there is any other easy-to-use tool for exporting OSM data in shapefiles format, I would be glad to know about it.

Thank you,

Claire
