Hi all,
There is a great and handy new web interface to the overpass API that was
announced recently here:
http://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk/2013-January/066003.html
The actual interface is accessible at these two urls:
http://overpass-turbo.eu
http://overpass-api.de/turbo/
I used it during a OSM training a week ago to extract building footprints
and it worked well.
Then we used the OSM QGIS plugin to do the conversion from .osm to .shp
Cheers,
Vivien
