Hello Everyone,
I thought it would be a good idea to put together a chat between the
American Red Cross who we have been working very closely with, and
the volunteers working with HOT who have either traced roads,
buildings, landuse, or place names and the people who are actually
using our data.
The chat will be sometime Monday with the exact time on this date
still to be determined. The meeting will be held on our new mumble
server via a voice chat lasting maybe 1/2 hour to an hour. Mumble is
a voice chat program similar to TeamSpeak, which is basically like a
voice version of IRC. If possible I would like to get as many HOT
board members as possible there, as well as myself and Maning Sambale
who has been leading the activation during Philippine day time. I
can't say for sure that everyone will be there but we will get as many
as possible and see how it goes. The software you need to download
and set up is the first link below, and once you run mumble it will
ask you to connect to a server, that is the second link below:
http://mumble.sourceforge.net/
http://talk.hotosm.org
Please join us if you would like to discuss what you have been doing,
what is being done with OSM data, or what you would like to see done
in the future of our response to these kinds of disasters. Please
download and install mumble before the meeting time to make sure
everything is working so you can join us during the meeting.
Thank you,
- -AndrewBuck
