Sander
Thanks to documenting this.
We will have have to synchronize ourselves and use the same link. It has been suggested to use this link that I find more intuitive for newcomers : https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.oftc.net/hot
I have added this link in some TM jobs since this Kiwiirc instance is easier.  It is now added also otn the Task Manager front page. I suggest that both the Task Manager front page and the LearnOSM refer to this instance.

Some remarks:

* New users often expect immediate answers, or just ask a question and leave (like you would on a help site, which mails you about answers). It's best to warn them to leave the page open as long  as possible (until they got an answer)
* After the sencentce "Alternatively, use the IRC client of your choice", I'd mention the parameters: server is irc.oftc.net, channel is #hot.
* The user-friendlyness of IRC depends a lot on the client. I don't find the osm standard IRC client very pretty, which may scare away people. It might be worth to try some others like https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.oftc.net/hot (though that should probably be changed at the TM level)

Sander

 Pierre,

I've added a section to LearnOSM concerning the OSM HOT IRC Channel #hot link from the home page of the Tasking Manager:  http://learnosm.org/en/coordination/tasking-manager/#getting-live-help

I was very impressed at how simple it is - I've only started using IRC in the last year, & wish I had found this version a lot earlier, because it is so easy.

As usual, for anyone reading this message - if there's anything wrong in what has been put into LearnOSM, make sure it gets fixed - email, github, feedback from site - lots of options (Please don't use the 'do nothing & then complain' button).

 Regards
