One of the problems with any survey is sample.  Unfortunately where you
appear to be hosting it requires an email address, not only that but if you
sign in with Google it requests your contact list. This may turn some
people away from the survey before you start and is HOT the only people who
see this information or does Dropbox get to keep it as well?

There is a concept of respondent burden ie ask them as little as possible.
Could the data be obtained in any other way?  You already know their email
address from HOT, given that could you extract the information about the
number of times they have mapped?  I suggest you ask permission to look at
their HOT mapping in case it contravenes any privacy laws anywhere.
