[Imports] imports in Africa

Hi!

What went wrong with imports in Africa?
There are areas full of double imported nodes, ways without a reasonable tag
except an odd 'id'.

eg:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=-5.8902&lon=29.1938&zoom=13
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=-1.4022&lon=31.2765&zoom=13

On the wiki page http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Africover these
countries
are marked as 'DONE', but it seems far away from that. I can find no other
information.

Is anybody working on fixing that?
How will that be fixed?
Will the imports be reverted?
Does more of such data gets imported?

Does anybody care?
