Unfortunately no. With my rewritten ogr2osm, the only example
translation is the UVM one (the others in that directory are leftovers
that need to be deleted). With the original, there were some more
examples, but it was less flexible and there still wasn't documentation.

That said, I can tell you that neither version of ogr2osm has ways to
deal with multiple files, though my version should be flexible enough to
allow it with not too much work.

So for now you're probably best off continuing as you are.
