those you will survey in the future could be entered directly into OSM with an editor, without going through the hassle with the csv (that's also much better for getting a visual feedback about the correctness of the locations, because you see them directly on a map). You could still get csv (if you need/want) by exporting your data after you entered it.

I recommend Josm for beginners and pros, if they are affine to technology, but iD is ok as well. Josm has a steeper learning curve but is more powerful and versatile, and once you have become familiar with it, it is also faster to make edits. iD makes it harder to understand what is going on because it "hides" certain aspects from the mapper, but it is less overwhelming because of reduced functionality. I'd likely recommend iD and not josm for my mother ;-)
