[Imports] Importing data

There are quite a few WIKI pages relating to tags for railways

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OpenRailwayMap

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OpenRailwayMap/Tagging_in_Australia

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OpenRailwayMap/Tagging - this is the most
extensive and should cover just about anything to do with railways!

It also looks like some railways that exist in greater Sydney in Open Street
Map may not be tagged correctly as they fail to show on OpenRailwayMap. I
would certainly suggest getting an idea on those issues as part of your
overall import strategy.

Cheers - Phil

Subject: [Imports] Importing data

To Whom It May Concern,

I work for a rail operator in NSW Australia and we are currently exploring
the idea of importing some of our corporate rail, signal and track speed GIS
data to open rail map that would cover the greater Sydney region.

At this exploratory stage, I was wondering if you could provide us with
details about the steps required to import this data and sample data schema
so we can match our data to this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Patricia
