I also prefer explicit mapping to be done by humans. If you want a computer generated guess map you can have it without uploading it to OpenStreetMap. If we don’t fill the gaps which nobody has yet bothered to map, we can see where we might miss information or details, finding problems in an apparently complete map is much harder.
