Hello,

I'm planning to do an import of building footprints and addresses within the City of Redlands, California, USA. The import plan is here:

Wiki: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__wiki.openstreetmap.org_wiki_Import_City-5Fof-5FRedlands-2C-5FCalifornia-5FBuildings&d=DwIFAg&c=n6-cguzQvX_tUIrZOS_4Og&r=lAl751BjUlWAsM9nlqyn-gri7zlgpNhPRTHks1Lueqo&m=o0gZhulW7SwYPedVUhIx1uCxMOz1iIOrM0O1pla40oc&s=dn2M6dhYqQ6go8unzNGMr-Io18AGJMpUXM30kf93pWM&e=

Data Source: http://opendata-coredlands.opendata.arcgis.com/

The source data is provided by the City of Redlands under a compatible license for import (Public Domain). The City is aware of the proposed import to OSM and has given explicit permission.

There are about 34,000 buildings for the city, most of which include an address. A couple thousand of these buildings already exist in OSM, mostly without an address. The plan is to perform this import in a couple phases. In the first phase, only new buildings that do not intersect existing buildings will be added. In a future phase, existing buildings will be updated to include additional address tags as needed.

The plan is to spatially join addresses to the building footprints to create address tags, and then spatially select the new buildings to be imported. The data will be split into sections (block groups) to be reviewed and imported by myself and other local contributors.

Please let me know of any questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Deane
