[josm-dev] Feature suggestion "automatic update"

Hello,

a lot of programs - even from the Open Source area - provide a 
auto-update feature: they check on startup whether a newer version is 
availaable on the net.
I suggest to include such a feature also in JOSM.

The following configuration flags in the preferences seem to be 
reasonable for me:
- auto update: jes/no
- web address to check for updates
I would also suggeste a button to force an update manualy.

The manual update forced by the user could also be an alternative if the 
discussion about an automatic update leads to a decission "no".
