I have created a .app for JOSM too. I increased the memory for it to  
work. It needed to be done in a special way, through the Java VM  
properties rather than the memory setting in the .plist.

My one can be updated, by replacing the josm-latest.jar within the  
bundle.

I didn't bother with a custom icon.

Another advantage, is the prevention of multiple JOSMs launching. It  
does play nicer with the dock etc.
