For layers, 'right click on layer' -> 'info' should provide everything 
that is in the tooltip. I fear adding more and more options does not 
solve the problem. Often a reasonable default behaviour is simply what 
is required.

Tooltip should be short: I cannot even read all the text on the gpx 
layer tooltip because it is hidden again after some time. So maybe we 
can keep the layer list tooltips, but rework them.
