[OSM-newbies] slow uploads (and downloads)

Hi,

I am experiencing very slow uploads at the moment.  I started uploading about 50 new segments and nodes about two hours ago and the status bar shows there is still almost half of the upload left.  I sometimes see similar things happening when I try to download areas, but I've always figured that the server was just unusually busy at the moment and tried it again later.

As the upload is already half done I don't want to cancel the upload.  How long can I expect a small upload like this to take?  Could this be a problem at my end (I have a fast internet connection so that should not be the problem - 10Mb/s both directions)?
