Hi,
on osm we tend to focus on geographic features, so 
amenity=market;marketplace wouldn't be in this spirit because either 
market is the same as marketplace or it is nothing physical that you can 
see there all the time, but it's more like an event that takes place 
every now and then. So I would say the fact that they have a market each 
week is a feature of the marketplace.

You could write

  market:opening_houres=*

if you like to make extra sure that these are the market times and not 
the times the place is accessible. (However I would prefer a simple 
opening_hours=* as it is quite obvious what is meant here.)

On your wiki changes: If you edit an approved feature, make sure most 
people agree with you and you don't add even more confusion for newbies.
Maybe start on the discussion page and then move it over to the main 
page if there are no objections.
