[OSM-newbies] Power lines

Okay, another foray into new area for me...

I was bored, so I started poking at the screen. I have created points
that define high voltage pylons (and are tagged as such). Now I want
to add the power line that runs between these pylons. However, I can't
select a point, and create a way to the next point as both versions of
Potlatch think I am trying to select the point for editing or such.

Is there a way to add the power line between each of these pylons?
