Well, they write:

Which translates as: "Out of oversight, we didn't mention the CC-BY-SA
license and the OpenStreetMap project. We will fix this in an upcoming
patch and we are sorry for that."
Isn't that good enough?

We can deal with that then. At the moment, I believe that vigilante
action is hurting the project. The general situation is that many grow
wary of the all-seeing giant that is Google and look for alternatives,
and OSM stands out as an exceptionally good alternative. I think that we
scare potential users away if we give ourselves the image of a bunch of
tight-fisted misanthropes who don't really want anyone using their work.

If you want to avoid bad press, don't be bad. Don't assume that everyone
is evil.
