[Osmf-talk] Financing the OSMF

I think there has to be a clear distinction made between

- donations (potentially earmarked) - where I would have issues with
anything going over a thank you in the form of a blog post, we shouldn't
forget that we have hundreds of individuals that have in relative terms
donated far more than any company in the history of the OSMF (and I'm
talking about cash here, not data contributions)

- sponsorship - essentially a tit for tat, what for example we do at
SOTM with clearly defined packages, could also be project orientated

- membership - you might get to participate on voting who is on the
board, but otherwise this would probably boil down to a special mention
and discounts for events

When we internally discussed extending the donation drive that we just
closed, defining exactly what kind of level of donation gets you a blog
post etc. was one of the topics. If we go in to continuous fund raising
mode we would undoubtedly publish such a list.
