Tanzania is a very large country by territory. It has an area of 945
thousand square kilometres. By territory it is as large as Franace and
Germany together. A lot of people in rural areas live by
self-sufficiency farming.
But it does not mean that people in cities and towns can live (and
actually live) with 52USD per month. Here is the cost of living in

Despite widely accepted stereotypes, the economy of Tanzania (and Africa
as a whole) is growing several percent a year. Already several years in
a row. Taking into account the immense scale of this continent, its
mineral resources, it may well continue to grow with the same phenomenal
rate.
