Not so. The Official Secrets Act is very limited in scope & mainly covers the dissemination of documents and other information obtained whilst working directly or indirectly for the government, military, etc.

Simply mapping what you see is perfectly legal, even if the objects mapped are used for secret government purposes. Mapping areas (in any level of detail) that are often left blank on Ordnance Survey maps is not a crime!
