Having a focused, illustrated overview available would go a long way to
help us work on this issue more effectively.
I realize that it's a lot to ask for, especially from Nuno after all the
work he has already put into investigating this issue and bringing it to
the attention of the board and the community. So I wouldn't just expect
him or anyone else to write this documentation – it's a wiki, and I
could just do it myself after all.
Still, I would be very grateful for this kind of resource, as whenever I
returned to working on the topic over the past months, I spent quite
some time trawling the various threads for examples of Facebook
attribution, where they were interspersed with criticism of other
companies as well as plenty of discussion on related topics.

I'm open to arguments to the contrary, but I believe involving the LWG
is essential. I don't feel sufficiently well versed in legal matters to
proceed on this matter without their expertise.
As for delaying until the completion of the attribution guidelines, I'm
no longer sure it was the right call. When we first received Nuno's
request, my view was that we should first define our expectations for
attribution clearly, and then enforce them. However, I underestimated
how far away the completion of the guidelines still was (which is my
fault, mind you – the LWG never promised any completion date afaik, I
just let my assumptions run wild) and we have now waited to act on this
issue for an awfully long time.
