The original problem was about data quality, not about purpose, if I
understand correctly.

I believe it is two very separate problem is whether someone creates
invalid data or whether someone maps something you don't like or don't
map something you want or need.


In my view bad data from Evil Company™ is not much worse than bad data
from John Doe: both shall be prevented. I'd like to concentrate on
preventing bad data and why instead of _who_ creates it.
