What is the status of enforcing this compliance on Facebook maps, where even full screen
display of map on a computer is still hiding attribution, requiring click on a mysterious button
to see it?
And obviously also on mobile devices.
For bonus points they used barely visible gray i buttons, even worse than a typical
Mapbox customer.
--------------------------------------------
What about Mapbox itself failing to properly attribute OSM on mobile devices?
See for example
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/matkoniecz/illegal-use-of-OpenStreetMap/master/Mapbox/Mapbox_attributes_itself_inline_example_2020-01-30.jpg
I was trying to reach someone in Mapbox via their form etc, but it ended with claim
"Mapbox does abide by the ODbL, and we’re confident that our default attribution practices
meet the terms of the license."
(internal Mapbox report id 77176)
Is Mapbox after publishing
https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Licence/Attribution_Guidelines
still claiming that attribution hidden by default is fulfilling ODBL requirement
of
"notice associated with the Produced Work reasonably calculated tomake any Person that uses,
views, accesses, interacts with, or isotherwise exposed to the Produced Work aware that Content
wasobtained from (...)"
?
Especially in situation where there enough space for Mapbox logo and mentioning Mapbox name
two times?
This specific case refers to
https://api.mapbox.com/styles/v1/mapbox/streets-v9.html?title=true&access_token=pk.eyJ1IjoibWFwYm94IiwiYSI6ImNpejY4M29iazA2Z2gycXA4N2pmbDZmangifQ.-g_vE53SD2WrJ6tFX7QHmA#1.07/-1.4/4.7
(resize window to small one or view it on a mobile - at least on big screens attribution is shown,
what is better than Facebook)
