I have seen it, but the wording is not sufficiently clear. Someone using
the Google API would argue their attribution is for using the framework and
does not create a false impression "that OSM data is not from OSM", rather
on the contrary if you click on the logo you get to google maps ;-)

Same for someone using a mapbox product (it's not the data source
attribution but the attribution to the framework and APIs).
