All the current third party authentication providers are ones which **currently** a potential user has a reasonable chance of having an account, either because they're large providers of authentication services, or, in the case of Wikipedia, a smaller one which is in a related field. You've talked about the users maps.me passports **will have**, not what they currently have.

Is there a reason why you're not opting to offer OpenID, which is already supported by many sites, including osm.org?
