[Tagging] power=tower or pole?

It's a pity. What do the English natives say, is mast a good word?
Actually I think that pole isn't because it is (language) implying a
form and type (solid cylinder) AFAIK, while mast looked more generic
to me, I found out that "a mast is held up by stays or guys" (in
opposite to a tower which is self-supporting).

Isn't there a good word for a smaller then a tower power-line-support?
