According to WP, a proving ground is the AE word for a training area
Probably "proving_ground" is highly misleading and not sufficiently
specific as a word for these.
I have found "driver training area" as a word that fits (IMHO) well the
needs. The tag could be


no need for a landuse tag, but either we distinguish kids and adults by a
subtag, or we use a different main tag, e.g.



PS: After writing all this, I have found that the situation was already
similar in 2009 ;-)
