[Tagging] multiple schools on one plot

Thank you for your reply, António.

Yes, "school" IS "limited," as you say. We also have amenity=college and amenity=university. Locally, my alma mater is tagged the latter and ten additional node instances of the former, that's simply how that campus rolls, and has for over a decade in OSM. And "we in OSM understand that."

Yes, "more comprehensive" CAN refer to more than "just" a school, absolutely correct. The wiki could (and does) get very specific with secondary, tertiary, etc. kinds of education (high schools, colleges, universities, graduate degree program granting institutions, technical schools / trade schools...very rich semantics the world over...). There are many possibilities. Explaining this universe of possibilities (to the extent you can, as I just did, but then used an ellipsis ... to indicate it is open-ended) is something the wiki should at least give a "college try" as to starting and being as comprehensive as it can be.

I like when I see wiki which either are or aspire to be comprehensive, rather than a mention of it. A "waving of hands" and implying "you know what I mean" is indicative of a lack of effort at BEING comprehensive. "More amenities" flirts with being a bit lazy. Push ahead and BE comprehensive, my good António! Thank you!

"Having wider use being school's only merit" seems to be taking an overly-restrictive perspective to me. But, OK. You see education as "wider" than "school" and I agree. There IS such a thing as "legacy use" in OSM, which both cannot be ignored and to a certain degree must / should be respected. So, if education emerges, education should be clear about what is meant by education. This is the natural order of things, otherwise you get people (like me) asking "what, exactly, do you mean by that?" And if you can't be exact, be as exact as you can be, knowing that sometimes it is hard to be both exact and completely comprehensive — a tall order / sometimes-difficult task, to be sure.
