[Tagging] Is landuse=winter_sports a ‘de facto’ tag for ski areas?

Agreed that leisure=winter_sports instead of landuse would avoid the usual drama associated with the later.
But, given the very slow pace of mapping such areas, I would advocate against depreciating, discouraging or whatever.
(>4400 at skimaps.org, http://www.opensnowmap.org/qa/OSM_vs_skimap_missing_at_OSM/).
Maybe a rationale is needed, so here's one: during winter where this tag is most useful, hopefully snow covers everything and summertime landuse is not that used anymore, hence the overlap/intersection.
