actually my point was different: if you have an object with building=* and
tourism=museum, the problem is already there, at the root there is a
modelling problem. historic=museum or historic=building would be able to
solve this ambiguity, but not in a sustainable way. You would have to
disambiguate all other properties as well, because you have one object
which represents 2 entities: a museum (institution) and a building.
Once you have sorted out this ambiguity by having an object for each of the
things you want to represent, historic=yes as an attribute would work just
fine.
