I think both are clever solutions; either one works in my mind (to denote this infrastructure).

Routers / renderers / downstream use-cases:  it is suggested to you to "pay attention to both meaning the same semantic," as it really does happen that multiple syntax examples, such as these two sets of tagging, can and do result in identical semantics.
