[Tagging] Difference between man_made=mineshaft (disused=yes) and historic=mine_shaft?

Somewhat related to this question is the difference between 
"man_made=mineshaft; disused=yes" and "disused:man_made=mineshaft" 
here.  The wiki page does mention it at 
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dmineshaft .

Normally a tag of "key=value" with "disused=yes" would be a pretty bad 
idea, since people looking for a "key=value"would be disappointed when 
they find a disused example, but a disused mineshaft might still be a 
physical hole in the ground that people probably want to avoid falling 
down, so "disused=yes" could make sense here.
