I see no fundamental difference between mapping a university as a campus and mapping a shop as a “campus”.

Subject: [Tagging] Tagging of larger shop types
Hi all,
Similar to an earlier question around tagging amenities
(https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/tagging/2021-September/062406.html),
I wonder if there is a consensus on using shop=* for areas larger than
just buildings.
Shop=garden_centre and shop=car are examples where the "shop" is often
much larger than just one individual building. In both cases, these
shops tend to have large outdoor areas where plants/cars are displayed
for sale. They form an integral part of the shop - but are not part of a
main building.
In such cases, are we OK tagging the whole area (including outdoor
sections) inside one large shop=* area? If so, do we include other bits
such as car parks, grassy areas etc?
The wiki isn't clear on this, and tagging seems a little mixed (some
apply shop=* to the whole area, though most seem to only apply shop=* to
the main building and tag the rest as landuse=retail).
Thanks!
