[OSM-talk-be] Adding path - correctly done? - stream vs lake

Hi Daan,

I did a quick check of the path you've added. There's only one real mapping
mistake here: where the path crosses the Oude Antwerpsebaan, the path should
connect to it, and in this situation, where the path actually ends on side of
the R6 and starts again at the other side, it should be split up.

Also, as Marc mentioned, the name shouldn't be invented. If it doesn't have a
name, just don't add a name.

About the Vrouwvliet: the best way to map them are areas with
waterway=riverbank. Looking at the history, I made these water polygons
myself, way before the waterway=riverbank tag existed, and we only could use
natural=water to map water features as polygons instead of single lines, which
is shown as being a lake in some editors, but is still okay to use for any
kind of water. Don't use waterway=stream or waterway=river on polygons because
it will think it's just a stream going in a circle instead of marking the
inside as the stream. Which brings me to a little warning for new mappers:
don't blindly translate editor presets, do check what actual tags are used on
existing features, you'll learn a lot from that, and then you can cross check
the tags on the wiki and learn more about its usage

You can though add a waterway=stream or waterway=river (still unclear where
the distinction is made between the two), as a single line which runs over the
polygons in the middle of the river. If you add a name=* tag to them it'll
even render the name on the map nicely along the curve. Look at the nearby
Dijle river to check how that's done.

Hope this helps, if you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask
Ben
