Such a feature would of course depend on all the work required to get
the extension enabled being done, but leaving that aside Aude is
working on an interface that allows people to easily get the wikicode
required to embed a map into an article, see e.g. this:

She probably hasn't thought of this specific feature but it should be
easy enough to implement.

More generally though we're aiming to just to get enough features
implemented to be able to get little maps in articles. Things like
authoring tools will be easier later once we have that and there'll be
more motivation (and hopefully more people working on it) once the
basic stuff is exposed to end users.
