[Talk-GB] Motorhome Stopovers or Aires

Hi

Up until the last few years we've not really had many of these in the UK. With the increase in motorhome use in the UK people are now lobbying to get more of these set up in the UK: https://campra.org.uk/

How are people tagging these in the UK? It looks like they should come under tourism=caravan_site according to the wiki entry for this but I cannot see any sub tags within the wiki entry that would distinguish an "Aire" from a more typical caravan site. They could for example just be some "signed" area within a car park. It would seem a bit odd to tag these as tourism=caravan_site but it would seem this is all that is available at present. Perhaps an additional tag of "caravan_site=motorhome_stopover" could be added.

It is also become more common for pubs to allow motorhomes to stop over in their car parks. Should these come under the tag "tourism=caravan_site"?

I tried looking at some "Aires" in France on OSM. The ones I looked at were car parks but none had any additional tags to suggest they allowed a motorhome stopover. It would suggest that "tourism=caravan_site" isn't an accepted method to tag motorhome stopovers. Perhaps it needs to come under "amenity=parking".

It is possible I have missed something given the number of Aires that exist in Europe!!

Any suggestions on how to tag this type of motorhome stopover in the UK would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Dudley
