I feel this is the case about a lot of translations and 
transliterations.  Without writing an essay, there needs to be some 
reason. Maybe a significant community that use the name.

Why does Crystal Palace have a "Gare de Crystal Palace". City of London 
has 11 names (sensible) but Westminster doesnt seem to deserve any.

The house of commons has a name:fr="Chambre des Communes"  (is that 
really  its name?).
