Interesting detail Chris - thanks.

After very recently re-qualifying as a first aider, the paramedic
trainer gave us more info on AEDs. Basically, the instructions are
specifically designed to make then _very_ easy to use, but both the pads
used on a patient and the battery packs have expiry dates around 2-5
years. AEDs self-test regularly. Availability of supplies at the moment
isn't great, but that will pass.
Whilst I can understand the value of an Ambulance Service collecting
data on the unit and ancillaries as a means of checking the likely
condition of a defib (e.g. has it been serviced? does it have an
outstanding recall? are the pads in-date?), this isn't a level of detail
that is available from survey, nor ideal for holding in OSM. The best we
can do is look for a green light on the device - if you can see it
through the protective case!
My personal mapping has been focused on locating (typically rural)
defibs, and their access process (e.g. get a mechanical lock code from a
999 operator), rather than the serial number and service history.
My most recent survey is a good example - surveying for a (very) rural
post_box, I added a defib on a farm house end wall. Location, access
process, and even manufacturer can be gathered - but not much more.
Should we follow post_boxes and add "check_date:collection_times =
2022-06-28" to give an indication of when the defib was last visually
seen to exist?
*defibrillator:**check_date = **2022-06-28 perhaps?*
(Yeah, I know about changeset date, but was the last an armchair edit to
maintain a tag, or ground truth? I've performed both.)

That makes sense - top-down registration *for a device custodian* with
validation for an Ambulance Service to hold and access. They could also
co-ordinate reminders for servicing.
