[Talk-GB] What does tourism=caravan_site mean?

I have commented on a changeset by a, I assume, German mapper who has changed several tourism=caravan_sites to tourism=chalet.

I have always understood a caravan site to be a site containing static caravans which are used for tourism. 

The wiki says it is for RVs (American for motorhome), which contradicts my understanding and what has always been the usage in OSM, at least in the UK.

Not really sure if a motorhome only site is even a thing in the UK, if there are the numbers will be quite small that allow motorhomes but not caravans.

My understanding is that all touring sites are tourism=camp_site with appropriate tent/caravan/motorhome access tags.

What do others think?
