Hi Moshe,

The only traces that I convert & upload directly to OSM are the ones I make
with TrekBuddy because this application optimizes the traces automatically -
removes many unnecessary points on straight lines. Even those I edit most of
the time before uploading. As Tal says the traces that are online shouldn't
be uploaded directly, because they'll look jittered and will contain many
unnecessary points. That is unless you use some other tool to optimize the
tracks - if you do, please share it with us. Currently best way I know is to
open such tracks in JOSM and draw the roads (on top of them) by hand.

I myself mapped one road between Ramle and Jerusalem, but I haven't been
able to work more on it. It would be great if we can mark the tracks that
have been entered, but I don't know if it is possible. What I was thinking
to do is use the very low-tech method of checking them one by one :)
