I imagine that at least some of that is auto-imported AND
data, which was quite a bit off for Delhi for some reason.

Is the imagery that bad that one cannot identify roads even
with actual GPS tracks?

We have tonnes of GPS tracks, but I am not finding the time to
map them, despite many promises. Would someone be willing to
take up the work if we make GPS tracks available? Maybe it is
time for a dedicated OSM mapping party. We could do one at
Sarai some weekend if there are enough people interested (please
email me off-list to express interest). We can also probably
find volunteers to get tracks for South, and North Delhi.
