Ciao talk-it

oggi ho avuto uno scambio di idee con il mapper krispyduck, che riporto
sotto:

============================
DAVIDE:
Ciao krispyduck
sono Davide, ho visto le tue modifiche in Piazza Bra (Verona) e secondo me
non sono corrette. Piazza Bra gi mappata come area pedonane, secondo me
non ha senso disegnare all'interno di questa altre highway
(highway=footway) o (foot=designated highway=pedestrian motor_vehicle=no
name=Piazza Bra)
Cosa ne pensi?
-------------------------------------------------------
krispyduck:
Hi Davide I do not speak Italian but I understand your message (thank you
Google). The reason I drew pedestrian roads on top of a pedestrian area is
to allow routing applications (like Osmand) to work. These will not route
through an area and so avoid the piazza altogether which makes no sense. By
putting a pedestrian road on top of the the area the roads are usually
rendered in the same colour and so appear "invisible" but the routing
software can use the "ways" to correctly route a pedestrian through the
area.
However, If you don't like it I am happy that you delete the ways
-------------------------------------------------------
krispyduck:
Hello again. Out of interest I decided to check how this routing problem
was solved in similar areas. If you look at Piazza Santo Marco in Venzia
somebody has used the same technique to allow routing through the piazza. I
think this is a good and unobtrusive way to allow 'foot' routing through an
area. It also allows the ways to be connected to nearby roads at a place
with a pedestrian crossing. But, like most things on OSM, there is never
just one way to do things :)
============================

1) esistono software di routing che utilizzano correttamente le aree (siano
queste pedonali o altro ?)
2) al di la che esistano o meno, non s'era detto: "il software deve
adattarsi sui dati e non il contrario"?

Ciao
Davide
