I've driven it many times. It's a tough call.

Looking at the wiki, I'd say neither trunk nor primary fits perfectly. 
On one hand, it certainly feels like a very different type of road than 
for example 6A on the inner cape, having wide shoulders, many high speed 
entry/exit lanes, some grade separated intersections etc. On the other 
hand I'm not sure "Limited access highway with occasional grade level 
intersections, or major intercity highway" [from the wiki] fits much better.

I wish we would have a set of objective, unambiguous criteria for 
determining road classifications in the US. Since that's not the case 
I'm fine with either.
